Man's first contact with the island of Antiparos seems to date back to the Neolithic age. Excavations on the islet of Saliagos opposite the castle of Antiparos brought to light a hole Neolithic settlement of about 4,000 B.C and the most ancient Cycladic figurine found thus far, made of bone and only 35cm high.
