I L-O-V-E Paros!!! My best friend and I spent three nights in Paros two years ago. We stayed in Alyki and loved the village. From the beach you can see the sea salt and peppered with islands that look as if you could swim over if you chose. The water is warm and looking our from the beach it ranges from crystal clear to green to deep blue. At 20ft deep (all the further I swam out) I could see straight to the bottom. The locals were very nice and friendly. We arrived on a late ferry and our hotel was deserted when we got out of the cab. The hoteleir's neighbor invited us into his kitchen while he called to have our room opened for us. Other than ur hotelier, his neighbor, and the waiter at the fabulous on-water cafe, we didn't run into many other people. The desertedness of the island gave it an exotic feel and we spent the days lounging on the beach (there's a great on around the bend from the main beach in the village). In fact we were the only people on the beach during the day. We did get surprised by a small herd of goats that had broken through a neighboring fence, but they were more of a funny spectacle than a threat. Paros, and mainly Alyki, is a great relaxing place to do exactly that.
